In 1920, in the ancient capital of Kyoto, a tea merchant made a discovery that would change the way the world drinks tea. Faced with leftover green tea leaves and stems, he roasted them over charcoal at high heat. What emerged was something entirely new — warm, toasty, naturally sweet, with almost no caffeine.
Our hojicha is crafted from carefully selected tea leaves and stems, roasted to develop deep notes of toasted cereal, caramel, and balanced umami. The result is a smooth, comforting cup that needs nothing added to be perfect.
